
According to sources, Police say that several Maoists have also been injured in this encounter and
the area is currently being searched.
More than 12 teams of anti-Maoist Special Hawk Force team of Madhya
Pradesh State Police, Cobra Battalion of CRPF and District Police Force are
involved in this encounter.
Confirming the encounter, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told
news agency ANI, “I congratulate the Madhya Pradesh Police. Under the
leadership of PM Modi, the Union Home Minister is running a campaign to
end the Maoist movement from the country by 2026.”
“Our state government is also moving seriously in that direction. Today three
female Maoists were killed in Balaghat, weapons were also recovered from
them, I hope that our police will not rest until this movement is ended.”
During the encounter, some Maoists have been injured, who managed to
escape by taking advantage of the dense forest. During the intensive
search, the police have so far recovered one INSAS rifle, one SLR rifle, one
.303 rifle and other items of daily use.
As per the government data, till 2018, only Balaghat district of Madhya
Pradesh was affected by Maoism, but after this, Mandla district and then in
2021, Dindori district were also declared Maoism-affected by the government.
