Samsung R&D Institute India, Bangalore (SRI-B) opened the Samsung Innovation
Campus (SIC) at Karnataka’s first all-women’s engineering college, Geetha Shishu
Shikshana Sangha (GSSS) Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysore.
Samsung’s SIC program was introduced in September 2022. It has a comprehensive
curriculum covering fundamental technology skills such as artificial
intelligence/machine learning, big data, and coding & programming. In 2024, Samsung
Southwest Asia furthered its SIC outreach by admitting 3,500 students, compared to
3,000 in 2023.
The students who will be part of this program will receive a chance to go through
professional offline and online training in a classroom center, and innovate on projects
under the mentorship of SRI-B and GSSS Institute mentors.
SRI-B has set up SICs in seven other institutes in Karnataka, such as BNM Institute of
Technology, Cambridge Institute of Technology (Main & North Campuses), Don Bosco
Institute of Technology, KLE Institute of Technology, RNS Institute of Technology (RNSIT)
Bengaluru, and one in IIIT-Kurnool, educating more than 800 students with the required
skills to get relevant opportunities in the technology sector.
Mohan Rao Goli, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director, SRI-B added “At
Samsung, we believe that opportunities for all is the key to innovation. It gives us great
pride to open Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) at Karnataka’s first women’s
engineering college, a place where talented young minds will discover, experiment, and
innovate beyond the boundaries of technology. In line with the government’s DigitalIndia and #MakeinIndia initiatives, it enables students to lead technological advancements from within the nation. We look forward to shaping future women
leaders as they create, innovate, and change the world with technology,”
“Our partnership with SRI-B guarantees maximum impact, offering industry-specific
courses and niche competencies, solid technical foundations, and real-world exposure
through capstone projects. This program further solidifies our pledge to empowering DigitalIndia by filling the digital skills gap and equipping women for the future workforce. Through a systematic curriculum, the students will have hands-on exposure to problem-solving and emerging technologies, improving employability and innovation.
We highly value SRI-B for this precious collaboration, which enables young women
technologists to lead technological innovations,” said Anupama B Pandit, Secretary,
GSSS (R), Mysore.
