Farah Khan Ali reveals that she was a teenager when she fell in love with Bobby Deol, and they were childhood sweethearts. Actor Bobby Deol’s year-long connection with jewellery designer and businesswoman Farah Khan Ali, which was long rumoured, has been discussed in the light of an innocent teenage romance between the duo, though the actress had to brush aside years of speculation about the two’s past. Farah spoke about the same thing in an interview recently and revealed that she had been ‘sweethearts’ as children and had shared ‘crushes’ on Bobby Deol, a sentiment echoed by Bobby himself several times.
It’s a long way back, she said, when it was not the modern notion of dating. We were sweethearts when we were kids; I had a crush on him, and he had a crush on me; we held hands and wrote letters to each other,” she added. At the time, she was 16, and Bobby was 17. Farah also rebutted rumours which suggested that actress Neelam Kothari had come between her and Bobby. To set the record straight, she has explained that Neelam has come into Bobby’s life much later and has nothing to do with their teenage romance. She stressed that there was never any bitterness over the relationship.
Speaking fondly of Bobby, Farah said they have remained close friends over the years. She also said she is very much in awe of Bobby’s wife, Tanya Deol, remarking that she loves the couple and has a good relationship with them. The love and admiration they share for one another have strengthened over the years, Farah said.
