Shiv Sena (UBT) member Priyanka Chaturvedi on Tuesday lashed out at trolls who
targeted her for criticizing influencer Ranveer Allahbadia for his purportedly distasteful
remarks during a YouTube show \u2018India\u2019s Got Latent\u2019 soon after the Supreme Court\u2019s
stern rebuke to him during a hearing.

need to listen in now to what the SC has had to mention regarding the kind of content
churned out by such content generators,\u201d Priyanka Chaturvedi put up on X.
Last week, the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP had informed that she was going to flag YouTuber
Ranveer Allahbadia\u2019s contentious statement as a \u2018judge\u2019 with the show by the
parliamentary standing committee on information technology.
I will be bringing the matter of the show India\u2019s Got Latent up as a member of the
standing committee of IT& Communication for the sort of vulgar, blasphemous material
that is being presented as comedy. We must draw a line because these platforms have
an impact on young minds and they are presenting absolute rubbish as content.\u201d. The
words spoken by Ranveer Allahabadia who was also openly promoted by others on that
\u2018comedy panel\u2019 are not acceptable,\u201d she had posted on X.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued protection from arrest to Ranveer Allahbadia in
various FIRs and also firmly condemned him for the comments.
Enraged by Ranveer Allahbadia\u2019s remarks, a bench of Justices Surya Kant and N
Kotiswar Singh remarked, \u201c.there is something dirty in his mind which has been vomited
on the YouTube show.\u201d
But the top court provided relief to him, acceding to the arguments of senior advocate
Abhinav Chandrachud, who appeared for the influencer, that he was shielded from any
coercive action. Further, he is getting death threats, the advocate added.
Responding to the sharp remarks of the Supreme Court, Bombay high court attorney
Abha Singh stated, \u201cI am relieved that Supreme Court has spoken strongly against
Ranveer Allahbadia\u2019s remarks. The SC has aptly pointed out that his remarks have
shamed mothers, daughters, and children. The SC has, of course, granted him interim
protection but has ordered the comedian to assist the probe.\u201d.
Apart from providing protection to him from any coercive action in FIRs filed in Mumbai
and Guwahati, the Supreme Court also stated that no other FIR shall be filed against
Ranveer Allahbadia in respect of his remarks on India\u2019s Got Latent show.
The top court further restrained Allahbadia and his other associate influencers on the
offending YouTube show from broadcasting any other episode until further orders.
The court instructed him to hand over his passport to the Thane police station and
instructed him that he shall not go out of the country without prior approval from the
court.
The bench also instructed Allahbadia to assist in the investigation of the FIRs filed at
